Gutsy and profound, this is a Merlot that won't let you down. Winemaker Steve Rued works his magic in this masterful blend of 76.25% Merlot (75% from the Round Hill, 1.25% from the Grand Pacific), 12.5% Petite Syrah and 7% Grenache.
The balance of the blend comes from of small amounts of Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Zinfandel for an amazing final product.

2005 Paseo Reserve, Cabernet Sauvignon, unfiltered, Maule Valley, Chile
Region: Chile -Varietal: Cabernet Sauvignon / Red -Price: $11.99
Tasting Notes:
Shining intensely ruby red in color, this full, concentrated and well-structured Cabernet Sauvignon depicts all that Chilean reds have become known for today. It opens with pungent aromas of ripe berries. Flavors reminiscent of caramel and vanilla with smoky notes then bathe the palate. Pleasantly intense, it offers a long finish.
Although approachable when young, the tannins of this wine soften as they age, developing cedar and cigar box aromas.

Tasting Notes:
Porters Valley Vineyards has done it for us again -this time with an outstanding California Zinfandel. At this price level, we’re sure that you’ll appreciate their efforts. This is a very special California Zin brimming with aromas of intense fruit characteristic of grapes grown on old vines. Black cherry and strawberry jam, along with raspberry and the keynote Zinfandel tones of black pepper and spice follow in the mouth.
